Mayor's Message 14 WELCOME WARMAN IS A SAFE COMMUNITY: Warman benefits from the organizations and volunteers who protect our community. This includes the RCMP, Warman Fire Rescue, Neighbourhood Watch, Bylaw and the Emergency Measures Organization. In a recent Globe and Mail annual study which ranked Canada’s Most Livable Cities, Warman not only climbed 115 positions to number 19, but the city ranked number one among all Canadian cities in Safety. We can take pride in the community’s efforts of working together to achieve this top ranking. SCENIC PARKS AND GREEN SPACES: Our city’s parks system is well-planned and well-maintained. It provides over 200 acres of beautiful outdoor areas for residents of all ages to enjoy around the community. Residents are able to take advantage of more than 15 kilometres of walking paths, playgrounds (including one fully accessible for all abilities to enjoy), sports fields, a skate park and BMX track, cross-country ski trails, outdoor rinks, a crokicurl rink and much more. Our Recreation & Community Services Department provides amazing care and maintenance of these facilities. I'm Gary Philipchuk, Mayor of Warman. My family and I have called Warman home for over 20 years. I’ve served on Council since 2003 and as Mayor since 2020. When meeting new and long-time residents, I often ask, “Why Warman?” The answers vary— safety, peaceful neighbourhoods, beautiful green spaces, the quality of city services, the small-town feel, the growing business community or recreation and leisure opportunities. City Council values these diverse perspectives, reinforcing that there is something that stands out for everyone in Warman.
